LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's soccer team waited through a near two-hour lightning delay at the end of the first half before storming past Lakeland for a win on Senior Day.

• Benedictine put together a flurry of early chances in the first 20 minutes
• Alvarado was able to put Benedictine ahead in the 23rd minute

• As halftime hit, lightning warnings brought a halt to the contest
• After nearly a two-hour delay, play resumed
• Alvarado was involved again in the second goal, setting up 
Stephanie Hernandez in the 63rd minute
• Mepham, another senior, got into the act with the third goal in the 73rd minute, finishing a cross from Alvarado as the second half surge continued
• Lakeland drew a foul in the box and converted on a penalty kick in the 79th minute
• The final goal came as the result of an own goal in the 82nd minute to account for the final

• Benedictine held a 22-3 edge in shots with 17 on goal
• Benedictine also recorded eight corner kicks
• Alvarado notched a goal and two assists
• Meintz and Duziak both tallied four shots
