LISLE, IL - The Benedictine University women's soccer team closed the 2021 season with a full schedule and a return to 'normal' by dropping a 1-0 decision in the season finale.

THE DETAILS
• Aurora had a very solid chance early but a defender stepped in and played the ball away moments before it crossed the line in the fifth minute
• Much of the opening 45 was spent in the midfield but
Katherine Prochnow stood tall at the end of the half with consecutive saves to keep the contest scoreless
• Prochnow and the defense continued to hold, denying several quality chances until the 65th minute when Aurora drove home a second chance for the lone goal
• Benedictine created several quick opportunities to tie the game but could not break through
• Stephanie Hernandez was denied on a penalty kick and the rebound attempt from
Eve Meintz was also stopped
• Both teams played back-and-forth for the final 20 minutes but no one could score a goal
