Men's Soccer Grabs First Win

DECATUR, IL - The Benedictine University men's soccer team scored three times in the second half to record the first win of the year on the road Friday night.

THE DETAILS

Benedictine put together plenty of chances in the opening 45 minutes but could not score
- Following a corner kick, Hayden Van Son knocked home a feed from Tomasz Kulak in the 52nd minute to give Benedictine the lead
- Benedictine did not settle, continuing to attack in controlling the second half
- Michal Szaflarski poked home a rebound of a Omar Barragan shot to make the score 2-0 in the 60th minute
- Chris Reynoso tallied the final goal in the 75th minute

Benedictine held a 12-3 advantage in shots in the second half and 20-9 for the game
- Benedictine also logged eight corner kicks
- Chris Rubio recorded three saves in net
- Fernando Alvarez led Benedictine with four shots while Barragan and Szaflarski posted two each
- The victory marked the first career win for head coach Spencer Pappas
