MILWAUKEE, WI - Matt Fleming was named as the NACC Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

Benedictine returned to action at the North Central Snow Day Invite and finished fourth. Fleming win the long jump with a leap of 7.39m, best in the nation. Fleming also took second in the 60 and was a member of Benedictine's winning 4x400m Relay.

During his illustrious career at Benedictine, Fleming has won four indoor weekly awards.

The award marked the second of the year for Benedictine, who is ranked 10th in the USTFCCA.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Benedictine University senior Matt Fleming (Chicago, Ill.) and Concordia University Chicago junior Zahra Sammour (Berwyn, Ill.) have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Indoor Track and Field Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Jan. 17-23, 2022, as selected by the league's athletics communication professionals.

Women's Student-Athlete of the Week - Zahra Sammour, Concordia University Chicago
Sammour won both the long jump and triple jump at the North Central (Ill.) Snow Day Invitational. Her conference-leading mark of 11.73 meters (38-6) in the triple jump is currently ranked seventh in NCAA Division III and set a new CUC program best. With her winning leap of 5.41 meters (17-9) in the long jump, Sammour sits atop the NACC performance list and is ranked 17th nationally.

Men's Student-Athlete of the Week - Matt Fleming, Benedictine University
Fleming won the long jump at the North Central (Ill.) Snow Day Invitational with an NCAA Division III-leading mark of 7.39 meters (24-3) while also adding a runner-up finishing in the 60-meter dash (6.96) and running the third leg on Benedictine's winning 1,600-meter relay (3:29.97).
