The Benedictine University men's soccer team fell behind 2-0 in the first 30 minutes of the contest but battled back to tie the score only to drop a 3-2 decision on the road in conference play at Edgewood on Wednesday night. Edgewood scored two goal in less than six minutes to grab the lead midway through the first half.
Victor Antomez put Benedictine on the board in the 59th minute on a feed from
Habtamu Kruiswyk. Kruiswyk evened the game just over a minute later but Edgewood scored the deciding marker in the 79th minute. Benedictine held a 17-13 advantage in shots with David Szflarski notching four.
Mateo Reyes recorded two saves in goal.
Benedictine (2-6-1, 1-3-1 NACC) visits Rockford on Wednesday.
