The Benedictine University men's soccer team fell behind early and was unable to complete a comeback attempt in dropping a 3-2 decision at Concordia Chicago in conference play on Wednesday afternoon.
The hosts scored twice in the first 23 minutes of the match to take a lead that would hold the entire afternoon.
Berto Castillo netted his sixth goal of the year in the 30th minute to slice into the deficit. A third individual scored for Concordia Chicago in the 55th minute to move the advantage back to two goals. Castillo scored again with just under three minutes remaining to account for the final.
Benedictine posted 16 shots but just four were on target. Castillo logged four shots with
Chris Reynoso adding three.
Jordan Rolon recorded eight saves in goal.
Benedictine (5-6-2, 3-4-1 NACC) visits Marian on Saturday afternoon.
