The Benedictine University women's soccer team capped the opening weekend of the year with an afternoon trek to Elmhurst, suffering a 4-2 defeat.

Stephany Mondragon early in the match as Benedictine moved ahead 1-0 in the third minute. Just over two minutes later Elmhurst tied the score and grabbed the lead in the 17th minute. The hosts scored four consecutive goals to pull away.
Benedictine managed seven shots with five on goal.
Katherine Prochnow made six saves in net.
