Jack Hayden was honored by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Hayden helped anchor the defense as Benedictine bested Loras 20-13. Hayden tied for the team lead with eight stops from his post on the defensive line and also recorded 2.5 sacks. The defense allowed just 38 yards rushing in the game.

Benedictine (2-0) opens conference play at Aurora on  Saturday.
