Onion joined the staff of Spencer Pappas for the 2021 fall season.

Onion played collegiately at Nebraska Wesleyan and also coached at his alma mater. Additional playing experience includes time in Europe with the AFC Bournemouth Academy, the First Team for Bradford Park Avenue AFC and professional trials in Germany.

Inion grew up playing in the Chicago Fire Academy and is currently a club coach at Chicago FC United and has also served as a scout and video analyst for Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.

He holds a USSF C License.
