Hodges-Mustafa took over the women's track and field program as head coach for the 2022-23 season. Specializing in hurdles and high jump, Hodges-Mustafa assisted the program at Homewood-Flossmoor from 2017-2021. Hodges-Mustafa coached the IHSA 100-meter hurdles state champion, Kaylah McCall. Homewood-Flossmoor captured the IHSA 3A State championship in 2019.

Working with the Zephyrs Track Club since 2018 Hodges-Mustafa has coached several USATF All -Americans including 100-meter hurdles National Champion Kaylah McCall. Hodges-Mustafa has also assisted with the Brown Track Club in addition to Champaign Centennial High School and Rantoul High School.
