Biography

2009: Finished 52nd at the Nothern Athletics Conference (NAC) championship with a time of 29:02 ... Had a personal best time of 28:31.5 at the NCAA DIII Midwest Regionals.

2008: Finished with her fastest time of the season at the Oshkosh Brooks Invitational with a time of 28:49 for the six-kilometer race ... A Northern Athletics Conference Scholar-Athlete.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Bartlett (2008) ... Beth Emody was her coach ... Three varsity seasons ... Also three seasons of track where Dan Kallenbach was her coach ... As a sophomore, was “Most Improved Hurdler” ... As a junior, voted “Most Valuable Jumper” ... Earned team’s “Sportsmanship Award” as a senior ... Academic all-conference as a senior ... An Illinois State Scholar ... Vice-president of Environmental Club ... Member of 2008 Illinois All-State Improv Team ... Also a member of International Thespian Society.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Scott and Harriet Kunesh ... Has one younger sister, Lauren ... favorite athlete is Kara Goucher... best memory at BenU was the giant snowstorm last year... aspires to become an elementary teacher... enjoys reading, photography, running and finding new places to eat... favorite sports team is the Chicago Bears... goal for the 2011 season is to place better at conference as a team.

MISC.:  Also competes in track and field ... At the 2009 NAC indoor championships, was a part of Benedictine's champion distance medley relay team, was second in the 55-meter hurdles, sixth in the 55 meter dash and 10th in the high jump ... First place in the 55-meter hurdles at the Carthage Last Chance Invitational ... At the NAC outdoor championships, was the champion in the 100-meter hurdles (in a NAC record time of 15.85), had a second place finish in the 400-meter hurdles and a fourth place finish in the high jump.
