E.J. Kirn

Edward "E.J." Kirn returns for his second season with the women's soccer program in 2019 where he primarily serves as the programs head recruiting coordinator and head goalkeeper trainer. He is also the head goalkeeper trainer for the men's soccer program.
 
Prior to Benedictine, Kirn served as assistant women's soccer coach for Joliet Junior College where he helped guide the Wolves to a NJCAA playoff berth in 2016. Kirn also has six years of experience at the youth and high school club levels at Legacy SC where he serves as the associate director of coaching.
 
E.J.'s playing background includes youth club experiences with the Chicago Magic and Lemont Raiders. In 2012, Kirn was named Most Valuable Goalkeeper while leading Andrew High School to it's first ever Reavis Cup championship. Kirn also played one season at NCAA Division II University of Illinois Springfield. After suffering a career ending injury, he transferred to Moraine Valley Community College to earn his associates degree in liberal arts.
 
Kirn has earned a National "D" License from the United States Soccer Federation, a Level 1 Goalkeeping Diploma from the United Soccer oaches, and a Director of Coaching Diploma from United Soccer Coaches.
