Jay Arballo

  • Title
    Graduate Assistant - Women's Soccer
Jay Arballo, originally from San Diego, California, began playing soccer at the age of six, quickly discovering her passion for the goalkeeper position. She attended Mater Dei Catholic High School from 2017 to 2021, where she was the varsity starting goalkeeper all four years and served as team captain for two of them. During her high school career, she led the team to the CIF playoffs each season, winning a CIF championship, two league titles, and advancing to the regional tournament. She also played a key role in helping elevate the program from Division IV to Division I in just four years. As a senior, she recorded an impressive 18 consecutive shutouts.

Outside of high school, Jay competed at the ECNL level with Rebels Soccer Club throughout her prep career. After graduation, she continued her soccer journey at the collegiate level, first playing Division II at Southwest Minnesota State University. Following two years at SMSU, she transferred to Chicago State University to compete at the Division I level. At Chicago State, she immediately made an impact, starting every game and playing every minute during her time there. In her junior season, she ranked in the top 20 nationally for total saves, and in her senior season, one of her highlight-reel stops was featured as a SportsCenter Top 10 Play of the Week.

Beyond college soccer, Jay has also competed at the semi-professional level. She played with Rebels SC in San Diego during the summer of 2024 and with Chicago House in the summer of 2025.

In addition to her playing career, Jay has developed as a coach. She has served as a goalkeeper coach for Illinois Skills School, worked as a skills coach for P2 Soccer Training, and coached at Nike Soccer Camps. These experiences have allowed her to share her knowledge of the game, mentor young athletes, and inspire the next generation of players.
