Joe McNab

Hailing from Manchester, England, McNab joins Benedictine for the 2018 season.

McNab coached in the Atlanta area soccer community since 2005 and spent the last two years at Oglethorpe University as an assistant. He worked for Chiefs Futbol Club from 2009 through 2017, and was a founding member of the organization. He served as the technical director, the boys' academy director and a boys' and girls' select head coach. Before that, he worked for the Tucker Youth Soccer Association from 2005 through 2008, serving as the assistant director of coaching, a boys' and girls' select and academy head coach, the director of the organization's junior academy, and the summer and winter camp director.

McNab enjoyed an extensive playing career, extending over 100 games and two continents. He played for both Manchester City and Portsmouth in England from 1994 through 2001 before coming to the United States and winning a USL national championship with the Utah Blitzz in Salt Lake City in 2001. He won his second USL championship in as many years with the Long Island Rough Riders in 2002, and also played for the USL's Syracuse Salty Dogs and Wilmington Hammerheads. He briefly moved back to England to play for Woking in 2003-04, helping the squad to the South East England League championship that season.

McNab holds a coaching certificate from the Football Association in England and a United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma. He lives in Chicago with his wife, Corene.
