Willis, a native of Chicago, bringing over 20 years of track & field coaching experience to the Benedictine program. She is joining the program after serving 4 seasons as assistant coach at Proviso East High School in Maywood, Illinois, where she coached a 3rd place finisher at the IHSA State Championships in the Girls 300 Meter Hurdles in 2023.
Prior to Proviso East, Willis spent 4 years as the assistant coach at Hinkley High School in Aurora, Colorado. She helped produce state champions in the boys 800m relay in 2017. She produced state finalists in the girls 200m dash (school record holder), girls 400m relay and 800m relay in 2018. In 2019, she coached a freshman to the Colorado State Championships in the girls 200m dash. Â

Additionally, she coached a National Champion in the Men's 110m hurdles at the College of Dupage. She also served as a volunteer sprint coach at St. Xavier University.
Wiliis coached several years with the Zephyrs Track Club where she developed multiple All-Americans who competed at the USATF Championships.

Willis graduated from Carthage College with a Bachelor's Degree in Geography. She also holds a Masters degree in Teaching and is currently a Special Education Teacher in Lombard.

While a student-athlete, Willis was a 2-time All-American in the women's hurdles and on the 400m relay. She also earned All-American honors 6x.Â
