RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Benedictine University men's soccer team dropped a close match to Concordia University Chicago, 1-0, on the road on Tuesday afternoon. The setback dropped the Eagles to 5-9 overall and 1-6 in Northern Athletics Conference action.
The match was fairly even, statistically, as each team had 14 shot attempts with four directly on goal. The difference in the match proved to be that the Cougars managed to net one of their attempts on a direct kick in the 86th minute of play for the 1-0 final score.
Orlando Esparza got the start in goal for BU and had three saves.

Erik Villegas and
Cesar Martinez each had three shot attempts for the Eagles.
Benedictine will next be in action on Saturday, Oct. 17, at home versus Maranatha Baptist Bible College. The start time will be 2:00 p.m. at The Sports Complex.
