Benedictine University punter
Neal Revane has been named as the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) "Student-Athlete of the Week" for football (special teams), it was announced today. Revane and the Eagles upset defending NAC champion Aurora University, 21-14, last Saturday.
Revane had six punt attempts for an average of 39.0 yards per kick, including a booming 63 yard effort (which was the second-best punt in Sports Complex history by a BU punter). Revane killed three of his punts inside the Aurora 20 yard line, including his last of the game which went out of bounds at the Spartans' six in the waning minutes.
That effort by Revane pinned the AU team deep in its own end for its final drive of the day, which was a four-and out series.
Revane, who also doubles as a wide receiver for the Eagles, had a pair of catches for 62 aerial yards.
