AURORA, Ill. - Benedictine University's volleyball team stumbled out of the Northern Athletics Conference "gate" on Tuesday evening, losing its league-opening match at Aurora University, 2-3 (24-26, 21-25, 25-18, 25-19, 11-15).  The loss drops the Eagles to 2-7 overall.

Kayla Leyden had a team-leading 24 kills and also chipped in 19 digs on defense. Kaitlin Walsh had eight kills.

Freshmen Kara Zuro and Miranda Brannen booked six and five kills, respectively.

Junior transfer Jackie Rust had 21 digs.  Senior setter Jessica Judge put up 20 assists, while the her sophomore teammate Taylor Hoppe added 14 assists.
