Eagles Dominate on Senior Day

LISLE, Ill.- It was all smiles on Senior Day as the Lady Eagles came out strong and never looked back, defeating the Lakeland College Muskies in three sets, 25-17, 25-17, 25-19, Saturday at the Dan and Ada Rice Center.

BenU honored seniors Kayla Leyden and Jackie Rust before the game and the seniors did their part in the win for the Eagles. Leyden led the team with 11 kills and added 6 digs. Rust continued her stellar play at libero, tallying a team-high 12 digs.

BenU found themselves down to the Muskies in both sets one and three, but were able to climb out of those holes and win in impressive fashion.

Kaitlin Walsh and Molly Kovacich each added 7 kills for BenU's offense. Kara Zuro and Taylor Hoppe each had double digit assists. Meagan Kmieciak had 7 digs for the Eagles defense.

The win brings the Lady Eagles to 20-7 overall and 9-3 in conference play. BenU will be in action again October 29 and 30th for their Eagle Invitational, which will be held at the Rice Center.
