Football Wraps Up 2010 Regular Season Saturday

LISLE, Ill. – The Benedictine University football team looks to wrap up the 2010 regular season with a win over Wisconsin Lutheran College this Saturday as the Eagles travel to Milwaukee, Wis. for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
The Eagles enter the game 7-2 overall and a perfect 6-0 in Northern Athletics Conference action. Last weekend's win over Rockford and Wisconsin Lutheran's loss to Aurora University clinched Benedictine's spot in the NCAA Division III Football Championship for the first time in school history.
The Warriors are currently 6-3 overall and 4-2 in NAC action with losses to Concordia-Wisconsin (13-0) and Aurora (24-21). Saturday's game marks the third all-time meeting between the two teams, with BenU holding a 2-0 advantage, beating the Warriors 16-14 last season.
Last week's game saw senior quarterback Preston Earl break the school's single season record for most touchdown passes. Earl now holds the record with 20, breaking Tom McGuire's record of 16 which was set in 1972 and again in 1974.
John Borsellino is close to making school history. The sophomore running back is just two touchdowns shy of tying the school record of 21 touchdowns in a season set by Prentis Wilson in 1988. Prentis also currently holds the record for most points scored in a season with 123, which Borsellino currently has 114.
The Eagles will find out their playoff fate on Sunday afternoon where fans, family and friends are welcome to join the team and coaching staff in the Coal Ben at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14,  for the selection show which airs on ESPNews at 2:00 p.m.
