Lisle, Illinois - The Benedictine University Women's Basketball team scored a 64-62 upset win over Wisconsin Lutheran, the leaders of the South Division.

Tracey Walsh (Oak Forest, Ill.) sank two free throws with 2.2 seconds remaining after being fouled on a rebound of a Wisconsin Lutheran miss to clinch the victory, closing a 10-2 run to finish the contest.

The Eagles trailed by eight at the half after shooting just 29.2 percent and were down 11 with 17:36 to play. Benedictine outscored the guests 14-3 to knot the score at 40 with 13:19 remaining on a pair of free throws by Colleen Forkin(Chicago, Ill.). The rest of the contest was nip and tuck featuring five ties and five lead changes.

Wisconsin Lutheran was able to take a six point edge on two different occasions thanks to baskets from Whitney Miller with 4:50 and 4:05 to play.  Jenn Bren(St. Charles, Ill.) tied the score at 62 on a layup with 1:22 left. The Warriors missed on two chances to win in regulation while Benedictine had one attempt before the final free throws. 

Benedictine shot 46.9 percent in the second half and finished the game at 39.3 percent (22-56). The Eagles outrebounded the guests 46-40.

Wisconsin Lutheran (12-11, 11-6 NAC) dropped its second consecutive contest. The Warriors put two players in double figures including Whitney Miller, who posted a double-double with game high totals of 17 points and 12 rebounds. Erika Laete added 13.

Tracey Walsh led Benedictine with 15 points. Monika Krozel (Norridge, Ill.), honored before the game as a senior, scored 11 and grabbed a team best nine rebounds. Jenn Bren narrowly missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Benedictine (11-10, 9-7) will host MSOE on Monday night in a makeup contest and can clinch a NAC Tournament slot with a victory. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the Rice Center.
