LISLE, Ill. – The Benedictine University volleyball team soared past Aurora University in their conference and home opener, defeating the Spartans in three straight sets on Tuesday night at a packed Dan and Ada Rice Center.
The Eagles (5-4, 1-0 NAC) held the Spartans (2-8, 0-1 NAC) to just nine points in the first set and had an impressive .304 hitting percentage. Benedictine went on to win the next two sets 25-17, 25-17, holding the Aurora offense to just 13 kills in the final two sets.

Kayla Leyden led all players with 13 kills and also tallied eight digs. Senior libero
Jackie Rust also had eight digs while sophomore setter's
Kara Zuro and
Taylor Hoppe combined for 28 assists. Freshman
Candice Cuppini had a great night, tallying nine kills and one solo block.
The Eagles are back in action on Thursday night when they travel to Concordia University-Wisconsin for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
