MEQUON, Wis. - After dropping sets two and three, the Benedictine University volleyball team battled back to defeat the University of Concordia-Wisconsin on Thursday night to remain undefeated in Northern Athletics Conference action.
The Eagles (6-4, 2-0 NAC) took the first set easily, 25-14, but dropped sets two and three 17-25, 22-25. With the help of
Kayla Leyden and libero
Jackie Rust, Benedictine battled back to take set four 25-14 and then set five 15-9.
Leyden led all players with 22 kills and tallied 24 digs while Rust also had 24 digs. Freshman
Candice Cuppini had 14 kills while
Kara Zuro had 39 assists.
Benedictine is back in action on Saturday when they compete in the annual Lake Forest Triangular, first taking on North Central College at 12:00 pm and then the host Foresters at 2:00 pm
