LISLE, Ill. - The Eagles are ready to open up the 2010 season this Saturday when they travel to Eureka, Ill. to take on Eureka College at 1:00 p.m.

"The first game is always tough," said head coach Jon Cooper. "Both teams have a lot of new kids and it will be interesting to see how they respond. I hope our kids show up and I am looking forward to seeing what we've got."

The last time the Eagles faced the Red Devils was in 2007 with Benedictine taking home a 21-7 victory.

"I am expecting a lot out of our seniors this year," added Cooper. "Our offensive and defensive lines are a work in progress but they will only get better as each day passes. Our secondary is our strength and I'm really counting on Mike Hatfield, Tim Shanahan and Matt McWilliams to get us where we need to be."
