Eagles Fly By Regents

LISLE, Ill. – Four Eagles scored in double-figures to help lead Benedictine University to an 82-65 win over Rockford College in Northern Athletics Conference on Wednesday night in the Dan and Ada Rice Center.
 
The Eagles (9-5, 4-2) got off to a slow start in the first half, trading the lead with Rockford (6-7, 3-3) for the first 10 minutes until a jumper from Dominique Walker gave the Regents their first and only lead of the game.
 
 
A layup from Brian Genslinger gave the Eagles the lead and they never looked back, going up by as many as 11 after a Jerrell Tribble layup and headed into the locker room at halftime up 45-36.
 
 
Benedictine jumped out to an 11-point lead to start the second half after layups from Cameron Snelling and AJ Brown. The Regents tried to make a comeback, cutting the lead to seven points with less than eight minutes remaining but the Eagle offense was too strong, defeating RC 82-65.
 
 
Snelling collected his sixth double-double of the year with 20 points and 13 rebounds while also tallying three steals. Terry Licht got his first double-double of the year with 17 points and 12 rebounds while Nate Green had 15 points and 12 assists, his second double-double of the year.
 
 
Also scoring in double figures was Brown with 11 points and six rebounds.
 
As a team, the Eagles were 32-for-66 from the field (48.5 percent) and out-rebounded Rockford 48-35.
 
Robert Malone led Rockford with 28 points and 10 rebounds.
