Eagles Ready for a Rematch

The Benedictine University men's basketball team takes on the Raiders of Milwaukee School of Engineering tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Rice Center. The Eagles have only one thing on their mind heading into tonight's contest: revenge. Benedictine dropped a 71-76 overtime decision to MSOE earlier in the season and are eager to pick up a win tonight.

The Eagles enter tonight's contest with a 13-5 overall record and a first place seed in the Northern Athletics Conference South at 8-2. The Raiders come into the game at 12-5 overall and 6-3 in NAC play, good enough for a No. 2 seed.

Coming off of a 70-58 victory Saturday over Maranatha, the Eagles look to Nate Green to lead them as he has done this year. Green is averaging 16.8 points and 6.4 assists per game. Another Eagle looking to build on his success is Cameron Snelling who has been averaging a double-double, with 13.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.

Benedictine is on a six-game winning streak, the longest since 2009 when they won nine straight, in which they are averaging 80 points and holding opponents to just 69 points per game.

Playing at home is not a problem for the red and white, they are 9-1 in their last 10 home games; especially on a Wednesday when the Eagles have remained undefeated.

The Eagles will look to stop the first half surge from MSOE who have outscored opponents 545-429 in the first half. The Raiders are 3-4 on the road this year and 2-2 on the road in NAC action. Strong play from two-time All-conference recipient and leading scorer Austin Meier is the main reason for the team's success. Meier is averaging a double-double with 16.8 points and 11.5 rebounds per game.

All fans should wear red to the game, whichs begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Rice Center. For those who can't make it out, watch the game live at www.vidtechsportsvision.com.
