ROCKFORD, Ill. - After dropping a tough 30-28 second set, the Benedictine University volleyball team went on to defeat Rockford College, 3-1, on Tuesday night to win their ninth straight match.
The Eagles (16-9, 9-1 NAC) took the first set easily, 25-11 and hit .367 with 13 kills and just two errors. Rockford edged BenU in the second set, 30-28, but Benedictine went on to win the next two sets, 28-26 and 25-21.
Molly Kovacich and
Nicole Adams led all players with 14 kills each while Kovacich also had 10 digs and five block assists.
Brooke Bowman tallied 10 kills for a team high .444 hitting percentage while also picking up two aces and five block assists.
Meagan Kmieciak and
Haley Fitzgerald had 16 digs a piece while Abby Sattler totaled 58 assists and 15 digs.
Nicole Lawler led RC with 13 kills and 18 digs.
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday morning when they travel to Dominican University for a 10:00 a.m. match.
