MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Benedictine University volleyball team defeated Wisconsin Lutheran College, 3-1, on Wednesday night on Northern Athletics Conference action. The Eagles clinched the No. 2 seed in the conference and will host Lakeland College at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Benedictine (17-10, 10-2 NAC) took set one 25-19 before trading off with Wisconsin Lutheran (19-12, 8-4) and falling 25-19 in set two. The Eagles rallied back to win 25-21 in the third set before narrowly edging the Warriors, 25-23 in the final set. The Eagles hit .368 in set four with a .368 hitting percentage.

Molly Kovacich led all players with 14 kills and had nine digs while Brooke Bowman had nine kills and six block assists. Candice Cuppini and Nicole Adams each had 10 kills while Kara Zuro led the defense with 28 digs.

Benedictine out-hit Wisconsin Luthearn 56-46 but were out-dug 80-73. Kelli Johnson led WLC with 10 kills.

The Eagles host Lakeland on Tuesday at the Dan and Ada Rice Center on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. but will first travel to North Central College on Friday, Oct. 28 for a 7:00 p.m. contest against the Cardinals. Benedictine then will compete in their own tournament, the Eagle Classic, at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at North Central on Saturday afternoon.
