NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University volleyball team hosted their annual Eagle Classic on Saturday afternoon, bringing in teams from the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) and College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.

In their first match of the day, the Eagles dropped a 3-1 decision to #17 Elmhurst College. Candice Cuppini led BenU with a team-high 13 kills while Jaclyn Nudelman had 9 kills. The Eagles out-dug the BlueJays 98-91 with Kara Zuro tallying 31 digs and Haley Fitzgerald with 20 digs. Abby Sattler tallied a double-double, 35 assists and 17 digs.

Benedictine faced Wheaton College in their second match and saw Cuppini tally 13 kills. Defensively, the Eagles totaled 52 digs with Zuro leading the team with 13 digs. Sattler had 11 digs, 26 assists and two aces in the match.

The Eagles will host their first home game of the season on Tuesday, Nov. 1 when they take on Lakeland College at 7:00 p.m. in the Dan and Ada Rice Center for the first round of the NAC Tournament. For more information about the tournament, visit the NAC website at www.northernac.org.
