AURORA, Ill. - The Benedictine University volleyball team extended their win streak to six games after soaring past Edgewood College, 3-1, on Friday night in Northern Athletics Conference action.
The win helped the Eagles remain in second place in NAC play, behind Dominican University who is undefeated in the league.
Benedictine (13-9, 6-1 NAC) edged EC in game one, 25-23 but Edgewood answered right back, taking set two, 25-23. The Eagles offense came alive in sets three and four, out-hitting Edgewood with a .204 hitting percentage while holding EC to a negative hitting percentage. Benedictine went on to win the next two sets 25-21, 25-14.
Candice Cuppini led BenU with 15 kills while
Molly Kovacich had a team-high .375 hitting percentage with 11 kills and just two errors. Abby Sattler had 34 assists and
Kara Zuro had a season high 23 digs.
Mallory Palmer led Edgewood with 12 kills.
Benedictine is back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Maranatha Baptist Bible College at 1:00 p.m. at Aurora University.
