LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University volleyball team defeated Lakeland College in three straight sets on Tuesday night to advance to the Northern Athletics Conference semifinal match against Edgewood College which will be played on Thursday night at the Dan and Ada Rice Center.
The Eagles took game one easily, wining 25-13 and holding Lakeland to just a .037 hitting percentage. Benedictine never allowed the Muskies to score more than 17 points, taking the next two sets 25-16, 25-17. The Eagles tallied 11 kills in the third set with just three errors for a .250 hitting percentage.
Candice Cuppini led all players with 10 kills and jus three errors while
Nicole Adams had seven kills. Abby Sattler had 28 assists while
Haley Fitzgerald and
Kara Zuro had 11 digs each.
As a team, BenU out-hit LC 33-23 and also tallied 47 digs compared to Lakeland's 43.
The Eagles are back in action this Thursday night for the NAC Semifinal match at 7:00 p.m. in the Rice Center.
