LISLE, Ill. – Five Benedictine University players scored in double-figures and
Jerrell Tribble scored a season high 28 points to help lift the Eagles to a 91-76 win over Rockford College in the Northern Athletics Conference quarterfinal game at the Rice Center.
The Eagles (19-7, 13-3) shot 46 percent in the first half to go up by as many as 14. With less than five minutes remaining, Rockford's (10-15, 6-10) Dominique Walker hit a three that would send the Regents on a 12-6 run and come within three.
Dario Jokic hit a three in the final second to send the Eagles up 46-40 at halftime.

AJ Brown ignited the BenU scoring, going up by as many as 14.
With under eight minutes on the clock, Robert Malone would cut the RC deficit to seven, but that is as close as the Regents would get as Benedictine clung to a double-figure lead for the final six minutes of play to take the 91-76 victory in the NAC Tournament quarterfinals.
Tribble led the Eagles in scoring with 28 points on 11-13 shooting and also grabbed six rebounds. Snelling had a season high 26 rebounds and also scored 15 points for his 18
th double-double of the year. Green scored 17 points and was just shy of a double-double with nine assists while Licht was 5-7 from the field scoring 12 points. Brown rounded out the high scorers for BenU with 10 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Rockford's Malone led all players in scoring with 35 points. As a team, Benedictine out-rebounded the Regents 54-37 but had 16 turnovers on nine RC steals. The Eagles were 33-68 from the floor (48.5 percent) compared to Rockford's 29-76 shooting (38.2 percent).
Benedictine is back in action on Friday, February 25 when they host the No. 6 seed Aurora University in the NAC semifinals at 7:00 p.m. in the Rice Center.
