CHICAGO, Ill. - The Benedictine University volleyball team defeated Wesleyan University in three straight sets to open the Gargoyle Classic hosted by the University of Chicago. The Eagles fell to Central College in the second match of the day.
Against Wesleyan, the Eagles took the match in three straight sets.
Candice Cuppini led all players with 19 kills in 24 attempts with zero errors.
Haley Fitzgerald tallied 10 kills and 10 digs to pick-up the double-double. On the defensive end,
Meagan Kmieciak had 10 digs while Abby Sattler had seven digs and 27 assists.
Against Central, BenU lost in three sets. Fitzgerald led BenU with six kills while Kmieciak had 10 digs and
Kara Zuro had nine digs.
Benedictine is back in action on Saturday morning when they take on host University of Chicago at 9:30 a.m. followed by a 1:30 p.m. match against Susquehanna University.
