LISLE, Ill. - In front of a packed Dan and Ada Rice Center, the Benedictine University volleyball team defeated Dominican University in four sets after honoring the four seniors on the team: Meagan Kmieciak, Kayleigh Skaggs, Kaitlin Walsh and Kara Zuro.

The Eagles (23-3, 10-1 NAC) came out on fire in the first set, tallying 14 kills with a .314 hitting percentage to win 25-16. Dominican (22-7, 9-2 NAC) battled back to take the second set, 25-23. In the third set, the Eagles defense had a strong showing, tallying five blocks to win 25-19. In the final set of the match, both teams fought down to the end. Benedictine took a 22-19 lead but Dominican came back to tie it at 22. The Eagles went on to score the next three points with kills from Candice Cuppini and Nicole Adams for the victory.

Adams tallied 13 kills and had just three errors for a .345 hitting percentage. Mailani Burton had a season high 12 kills in 19 attempts and seven block assists. Cuppini had 11 kills while Abby Sattler tallied 15 digs and 42 assists. Molly Kovacich recorded 12 digs and eight kills while Kara Zuro had 13 digs.

Benedictine will play their final regular season Northern Athletics Conference match on Tuesday, October 24 when they travel to Wisconsin Lutheran College for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
