RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Benedictine University men's basketball team fell 85-66 to a hot shooting Dominican University squad on the road in a high paced contest Wednesday night despite shooting 50 percent.

Trailing 12-6, Dominican used an 8-0 run to take a 14-12 lead with 14 minutes remaining. The hosts built a five-point lead but Benedictine came back to make the contest tight. Nate Green split a pair of free throws to put Benedictine ahead 29-28 with 4:39 left in the half. The Stars promptly went on a 11-0 run over the next two minutes to move ahead by double figures, not missing a shot in the sequence. Matt Kuzniar's three finished the run, putting the hosts in front 39-29.

Dominican led by 11 at the break, shooting a blistering 64 percent, and never trailed again the rest of the way, leading by as many as 23 in the second half. Benedictine pulled within nine points on two occasions in the second half, but another 11-0 run quickly stretched the margin to 21 points for the hosts.

Dominican hit nine threes in the game and finished 32-of-54 from the floor, 59.3 percent. Green led Benedictine with 25 points while Jamison Montgomery added 12.
