MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Still perfect overall, the Benedictine University volleyball team is now perfect in Northern Athletics Conference action after defeating Alverno College 3-0 to open up conference play on Tuesday night.
The Eagles move to 9-0 on the season, still not having lost a set. Benedictine defeated Alverno (1-8, 0-1 NAC) in straight sets (25-13, 25-13, 25-17).
Offensively,
Nicole Adams and
Candice Cuppini each tallied eight kills and
Kaitlin Walsh had seven. Abby Sattler had 21 assists while
Jacki Kaluzny and
Mailani Burton combined for five aces. Defensively,
Molly Kovacich led BenU with 10 digs while
Meagan Kmieciak dug eight balls and had three aces.
The Eagles are back in action this Saturday, September 15 when they host the annual Red and Black Triangular. The Eagles take on North Central College at 10:00 am then play Lake Forest College at 2:00 pm. Saturday marks the 2012 Homecoming celebration where all volleyball alumni will be recognized and asked to participate in a special promotion at the 2:00 pm match.
