LISLE, Ill. – The Benedictine University volleyball team extended its win streak to 12 games after sweeping Aurora University in Northern Athletics Conference action on Wednesday night in front of a packed Dan and Ada Rice Center.
 
The Eagles (12-0, 2-0 NAC) tallied an impressive 17 kills in the first set to defeat the Spartans (5-8, 2-2 NAC) 25-21. Benedictine combined for 29 kills and three blocks in the final two sets, winning 25-20, 25-22.
 
Up by two sets, Benedictine led by as many as 10 points before Aurora rallied back to come within one, 19-18. Kills from Candice Cuppini and Mailani Burton sealed the victory for BenU to take home the 3-0 victory.
 
The Eagle offense dominated in the match, out-hitting Aurora 46 kills to 22 with a .239 hitting percentage. Cuppini led all players with 14 kills while Nicole Adams had 12 kills and also tallied four block assists.
 
Kaitlin Walsh had 10 kills while Kara Zuro led the defense with 12 digs. Haley Fitzgerald registered 11 digs and one ace.
 
Benedictine heads to Decatur, Ill. this weekend to compete in the Milikin University Tournament.  The Eagles take on Eureka College and Milkin on Friday night before playing NAC opponents Wisconsin Lutheran and Concordia University-Wisconsin on Saturday morning.
