The Benedictine University volleyball team moved to 5-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action with a 3-0 win over Concordia University-Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon in the Dan and Ada Rice Center.
The Eagles (11-10, 5-0 NACC) took an 8-5 lead in the first set after a
Candice Cuppini kill and never looked back, winning 25-18. Concordia-Wisconsin (8-14, 2-3 NACC) led for most of the second set taking a 15-13 lead. The Eagles rallied back to tie it at 19 with a kill from
Nicole Adams. A service ace from
Breanna Hamerlinck and a kill from Abby Sattler sealed the BenU victory, 25-22. The Eagles rolled through the third set, winning 25-11.
Molly Kovacich led all players with 11 kills and also had nine digs while Adams and Cuppini recorded eight kills. Defensively,
Haley Fitzgerald led all players with 18 digs and Hamerlinck collected nine. Sattler had 29 assists during the match.
The Eagles are back in action on Friday, October 11 when they travel to Marian University for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
