The Benedictine University volleyball ended their season in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament semifinals with a 3-1 loss to Dominican University.

After falling 25-18 in the first set, the Eagles (17-16, 9-2 NACC) offense came alive with 13 kills to lead them to a 25-22 second set victory. The next two sets went back and forth but DU came out on top with 25-22 wins in the third and fourth set.

Candice Cuppini led BenU with 12 kills while Brooke Bowman recorded 10 kills and three block assists. Jacki Kaluzny tallied eight kills and Abby Sattler had 27 assists. Defensively, Haley Fitzgerald recorded a team-high 17 kills while Molly Kovacich and Breanna Hamerlinck each had 13 digs. Andraia Leja rounded out the dig-leaders with 12.

As a team, Dominican edged the Eagles in kills, 48-45 while BenU out-dug DU 78-72. While Benedictine had seven team blocks Dominican had 14. The Stars travel to Edgewood College to compete in the championship on Saturday night.

Benedictine says goodbye to their six seniors: Nicole Adams, Brooke Bowman, Candice Cuppini, Haley Fitzgerald, Jacki Kaluzny and Molly Kovacich.
