The Benedictine University volleyball team opened up the 2013 season at the Pacific Coast Classic in Claremont, Calif. on Friday night. The Eagles dropped their first two games of the tournament against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and and California Lutheran University.

Benedictine (0-2) dropped the first game in three sets (22-25, 18-25, 23-25) with Molly Kovacich tallying seven kills and Jacki Kaluzny with eight kills. Abby Sattler recorded 19 assists and also had eight kills.

In game two, BenU lost 23-25, 17-25, 13-26 against California Lutheran. On defense Sattler had 11 digs and Breanna Hamerlinck tallied eight digs.

The Eagles continue in the Pacific Coast Classic on Saturday afternoon when they face host Pamona Pitzer College at 12:00 pm followed by a 4:30 pm match against University of Redlands. All games are Central Standard Time.
