Box Score The Benedictine University volleyball team opened up the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference portion of their schedule at home on Tuesday night, defeating Concordia University-Chicago in three sets in front of their home crowd at the Dan and Ada Rice Center.

The Eagles (4-3, 1-0 NACC)  tallied 15 kills in the first set, winning 25-17. After a back-and-forth beginning, the Eagles finally pulled away for the win. In set two, the BenU offense connected for 16 kills and hit .500 as a team for the 25-19 win. The Eagles were on fire in set three, holding Concordia to just 10 points to take home their first NACC win of the season.

Candice Cuppini, who was just named the NACC Player of the Week, led all players with 17 kills and just one error for an impressive .727 hitting percentage. Molly Kovacich and Nicole Adams each had eight kills while Haley Fitzgerald recorded 14 digs and Abby Sattler tallied 36 assists and 11 digs.

As a team, the eagles out-hit CUC 42-20 and had 55 digs and six team blocks.

Benedictine is back in action on Thursday, September 12 when they travel to Wheaton College for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference contest.
