Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Benedictine University volleyball team lost both of their matches in the first day of the University of Chicago Gargoyle Classic.

Benedictine (5-6) fell to Milikin University in the first match 3-0 (20-25, 19-25, 20-25). Abby Sattler tallied 17 assists and 20 digs while Haley Fitzgerald had 18 digs. Nicole Adams led the Eagles with eight kills while Jacki Kaluzny had six kills.

In their second match, BenU lost to Christopher Newport in a tight three-set match (21-25, 19-25, 24-26). Fitzgerald led the Eagles with 22 digs and Sattler recorded 13 digs. Molly Kovacitch led the offense with nine kills.

The Eagles compete in day two of the Gargoyle Classic, taking on Elmhurst College and host University of Chicago at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively.
