The Benedictine University volleyball team totaled 83 kills and 112 digs on the day, defeating both North Central College and Lake Forest College in the annual Red & Black Triangular.

Against North Central, Candice Cuppini led the team to a 3-0 sweep of the Cardinals (25-19, 25-17, 25-13). Cuppini tallied 20 kills while Haley Fitzgerald led all defenders with 11 digs. Abby Sattler totaled 32 assists and nine digs in the victory.

In the second game against lake Forest, BenU won in four sets (25-11, 25-23, 21-25, 25-23). Cuppini again led the team with 20 kills while Sattler was just short of a triple-double with eight kills, 37 assists and 10 digs. Fitzgerald recorded 21 digs while Molly Kovacich had eight kills and nine digs. Jacki Kaluzny had six kills and 11 digs.

The Eagles are back in action on Tuesday, September 10 when they begin Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action, hosting Concordia University-Chicago at 7:00 p.m. at the Rice Center.
