MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Benedictine University women's basketball team suffered 65-51 loss at Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday despite leading at halftime.

Benedictine shot 54.5 percent in the first half en route to the lead at the break. Leading by five near the midpoint, Benedictine used a 12-3 run to open a 28-14 lead with 7:08 left in the half. Briana Hamilton opened the run with a pair of free throws. Michelle Batty's three capped the stretch. The Eagles were still ahead by double figures with 3:57 to go in the half but a run of 8-0 pulled the hosts within four. Benedictine led 34-28 at the intermission.

Wisconsin Lutheran was able to set the pace in the second half and streak to the victory. Trailing by six early in the second half, Wisconsin Lutheran scored 10 straight to jump ahead 40-36 with 14:09 to play. The Warriors extended the lead to double figures with 6:41 left. Benedictine clawed within five points with 3:52 remaining, but the hosts pulled away with an 11-0 run to put the game away.

Following the strong first half shooting performance, Benedictine shot only 20.8 percent in the second half, making just five field goals. Hamilton led three players in double figures with 14 off the bench. Vincenza Ranallo added 12 with Meghan Novak notching 10.

Benedictine (7-10, 7-5 NACC) travels to Alverno on Wednesday night.
