MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Benedictine University women's basketball team posted a season sweep of Alverno with a 73-66 win on the road.
Benedictine did not trail in the game, shooting 60.7 percent from the field in the opening half to race out to a 41-24 advantage. Alverno fought to within eight early in the second but the lead quickly extended to 16. The hosts scored 10 points in the final minute to make the game interesting but couldn't overcome the deficit.
Four players reached double figures for the Eagles led by 15 from
Meghan Novak.
Michelle Batty and
Briana Hamilton each tallied 11 off the bench.
Sierra Dunner contributed 10.
Benedictine (8-10, 8-5) will host Edgewood on Saturday night.
