LISLE, Ill. - The Benedictine University women's soccer team dropped a 5-1 contest to Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon.
The opening of the contest featured a flurry Concordia Wisconsin scored in the seventh minute on the first attempt from either side. Less than a minute later, Benedictine was able to tie the score.
Paige Velez finished a through ball from
Danielle Rohling for the lone Bendictine tally. The visitors took the lead for good just over a minute later.
Amanda Lozada showcased strong defense in her first start between the posts. Tested repeatedly, Lozada halted five shots in the first half and added seven saves in the second. Concordia Wisconsin held a 26-7 advantage in shots during the contest. Lozada made three consecutive saves in a stretch from the 76th minute though the 77th.
Taylor Pokorny was denied on back-to-back shots for Benedictine in the 83rd minute.
Benedictine (2-9-1, 1-3) hosts Beloit in a non-conference match on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
