After moving to 4-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action on Friday night, the Benedictine University women's volleyball team was defeated by Concordia University-Wisconsin in straight sets on Saturday afternoon.

The loss moved the Eagles to 6-16 overall and 4-1 in conference on the season. The Falcons are now 16-4 and 5-0 in conference play.

In the first set, CUW took an early 5-0 lead before Abby Screnock ended the Falcon rally with a kill. The Eagles offense could not regain control as they went on to fall 25-12.

The second set proved to be much of the same as BenU trailed early and the CUW offense was too much to handle as they tallied 15 kills for a 25-12 win.

Attack and serve receive errors proved to be fatal in the third set as CUW took the match in three sets with a 25-7 win.

As a team, the Eagles only tallied 18 kills and 27 digs while Concordia-Wisconsin recorded 40 kills and 36 digs with seven blocks.

Erin Wiegand led BenU with six kills while Screnock had six digs and 10 assists.

Women's volleyball is back in action on Friday, October 10 when they host Marian University at 7:00 pm in the Rice Center.
