MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Benedictine University men's basketball team opened conference play with a 62-61 win over MSOE.
Tahron Harvey nailed a step-back three-pointer with just over three seconds remaining to lift Benedictine to a second consecutive one-point win to open the season. Benedictine trailed for the entire first half, falling behind by as many as eight points at 21-13 with 7:23 to play in the frame. The Eagles scored the final five points of the half on a three from

John Dodson to close the deficit to one at the break, 28-27.
Following a nip and tuck opening three minutes of the second half,
Tim McGinty handed Benedictine the lead for the first time at 34-32 with a pair of free throws. The lead reached five points before MSOE went on a surge, jumping ahead by nine at 50-41 just past the midpoint of the half. Benedictine continued to trail by as many as eight points with just over six minutes to go. The Eagles slowly chipped away and did not take the lead until Harvey knocked down the winner.
Benedictine shot nearly 60 percent in the second half (57.9). Dodson led three double digit scorers with 14 points. McGinty added 13 and Harvey 10 in the win, which improved Benedictine to 2-0. The Eagles play at Wheaton on Tuesday night.
