Men's Hoops Blows Past Wesley in Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - The Benedictine University men's basketball team opened a two-game stint in Puerto Rico by breezing past Wesley 96-75 on Sunday afternoon.

Benedictine scored the first nine points of the contest and did not look back. Tahron Harvey knocked down a three-pointer with 14:50 left in the opening half to hand the Eagles a double-digit lead at 14-4. Benedictine completely dominated the first half, shooting 66.7 percent from the field and holding a 49-17 advantage at the break.

The lead reached 45 points in the second half at 76-31 when Mack Brown hit a three-pointer with 12:22 remaining. Wesley, out of Delaware, was able to pull within 19 points late but could get no closer.

All five starters reached double figures for Benedictine, who finished the game shooting 61 percent from the floor. The Eagles also held a 36-21 advantage on the glass. Tim McGinty finished with 22 points with Harvey adding 18. John Dodson, Michael Blaszczyk, Adam Reynolds, and Brown all finished with 10 points.

Benedictine (6-4) caps the trip against Ramapo on Monday.
