Box Score The Benedictine University women's basketball team fell at the Dan and Ada Rice Center to conference leader Wisconsin Lutheran 74-65 on Thursday night.
The Eagles struggled offensively throughout the first half, but junior
Vincenza Ranallo started a rally for the Eagles by scoring the team's first seven points.
Nicole Botich added four points of her own, and the Eagles headed into the locker down 31-19 at halftime.
The second half began with an early basket from the Warriors, but that did not stop Ranallo from adding another three more of her 16 points on the night. With Wisconsin Lutheran up 67-49 with just three minutes left in the game, the Eagles went on a late run ignited by a
Michelle Batty three-pointer.
Kendall Brown would score the final five points for the Eagles, who cut the defecit down to a 74-65 final score.
Kendall Brown led Benedictine with 17 points, while Wisconsin Lutheran's Kristen Schultz tallied 27 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocks. The Warriors outrebounded the Eagles 42-22 on the night and attempted 30 free throws.
Benedictine (8-12, 8-7 NACC) travels to MSOE on Saturday afternoon for a 4:15 p.m. tip.
